“My waist bone’s connected to my hip bone
My hip bone’s connected to my thigh bone
My thigh bone’s connected to my knee bone
My knee bone’s connected to my hardy-har-har-har”
Shoutout to Das EFX for the lyrical loop that kicked off this reflection. “They Want EFX” (1992) lives rent-free in the archives of rhythm and memory.
Now that I got that little diddy out of my head, let’s get serious about the importance of the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.
According to health and wellness professionals, optimal health is mastering the three pillars of self: mind, body, and spirit.
Our bodies are vessels for our spirits, while the mind acts as our command center, writing the codes for our programming. Together, they make the processes of our lives. Similar to the smart devices we own, if one method is not functioning correctly, it can cause a system malfunction.
My unpopular opinion is that a majority of society is one bad command away from total system failure. The pressures of life can wear on the soul.
Grind culture and/or the ills of capitalism leave little left in the spiritual tank. However, there is a remedy.
If we are going to avoid system failure, we need a reboot. Not the kind you do on your phone, but the kind that realigns your vessel, your command center, and your spirits, signal.
Here is how to begin:
Move the Vessel
Just 150 minutes a week is enough to shift your system.
Try walking, dancing, stretching, or yoga.
Start with 30 minutes a day, five days a week.
✨ Ritual tip: Begin with breath. Move with intention, not urgency.
Nourish the system
Eat whole foods daily.
Focus on fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and herbal hydration.
✨ Ritual tip: Treat meals like a ceremony. Pause. Give thanks. Eat with presence.
Recode the Command Center
Just 10 minutes of mindfulness a day can improve everything.
Try breathwork, journaling, or guided meditation.
✨ Ritual tip: Light a candle. Use a mantra. Let your soul speak.
Design Your Wellness Map
Create a weekly plan that includes movement, nourishment, and mindfulness.
Adjust it with the seasons, your energy, and your spiritual flow.
✨ Legacy tip: Your wellness is your inheritance. Design it with care.
It is not about perfection; it is about programming your life with intention.
Because when the mind, body, and spirit are aligned, the system thrives.
